The British group Black Country, New Road, which has risen brightly in recent years, will visit Riga this spring. The collective, whose music is described by Pitchfork as a fusion of alt-rock, prog-folk and baroque pop elements, creates a sound that simultaneously seems outside of a particular genre and completely recognizable as its own. Praised for its bold musical language, emotional intensity and continuous creative development, the group will perform at the Palladium Rīga concert hall on April 16, offering an opportunity to experience one of the most current British music groups of the new generation in a full-scale concert. Tickets on sale from January 23 at 11.00 on the "Bilešu Serviss" network.

Black Country, New Road (abbreviated as BC,NR) formed in 2018 in Cambridge and quickly became one of the brightest new bands in the British alternative music scene. The band gained wider attention with the singles "Athens, France" and "Sunglasses", and the debut album "For the First Time", released in 2021, received unanimous critical acclaim, was nominated for the Mercury Prize and debuted at number 4 in the UK album chart.

In 2022, the second album "Ants From Up There" followed, which marked a significant turning point in the group's sound, moving from post-punk sharpness to an emotionally saturated form closer to chamber music and art-pop. The record debuted at No. 3 in the UK charts, received rave reviews and was recognized as one of the most important British albums of 2022, including being nominated for Pitchfork's 'Best New Album'.

Shortly before the release of Ants From Up There, lead singer Isaac Wood left the band. After this turn in Black Country, New Road continued as a six-piece, with vocals shared between Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery and May Kershaw. This phase also saw the creation of a new concert repertoire, which was captured in the filmed live recording 'Live at Bush Hall'. The British newspaper The Guardian rated this performance 5 stars, describing it as a convincing and creatively bold revival.

In 2025, the band released their third studio album, Forever Howlong, continuing to develop a multi-layered sound that intertwines elements of folk, art rock, baroque pop and progressive music. Produced by James Ford (Fontaines D.C., Arctic Monkeys, Blur), the record marks the next stage in the band's ongoing musical transformation.

In the Palladium concert hall, you will have the opportunity to experience the current sound of Black Country, New Road, in which both musical nuance and collective energy on stage are of great importance.
