On January 10, the international fight show "Bazara 0 Fight Club 3" will take place at the Xiaomi Arena. In the course of the evening, wrestlers from many countries will participate, as well as popular athletes from Latvia. In one of the fights, domestic wrestler Hasans Mezhijievs and Brazilian athlete Luis Enrique da Silva will meet.
Luis Enrique da Silva is a Brazilian MMA fighter, more commonly known by the nickname 'Frankenstein'. He turned pro in 2013 and currently boasts a record of 20-10, with 18 of his 20 wins coming by KO or TKO, an amazing 90% knockout rate.
After his ups and downs in the UFC, and ultimately retiring from the UFC in 2017, da Silva went on to fight in major organizations, including Dana White's Contender Series in Brazil and top leagues in Europe.
In August 2022, he won the regional light heavyweight title in Brazil with a second-round KO at the Pitbull Fight Championship (PFC). In the same year, he also signed with Polish KSW and gave the audience one of the most impressive knockouts of the year: at KSW 75, with a frontal kick to the head at 28 seconds, da Silva defeated Polish MMA legend and former champion Tomasz Narkun in the second round, earning the "Knockout of the Night" and his third consecutive victory at the time.
33-year-old Mezhijievs has not yet lost a single fight in professional MMA and currently has 14 consecutive victories in the ranking.
In 2024, Mezhiev became the ADCC amateur world champion in the +100 kilogram weight category. The ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) is considered the world's premier grappling championship, and Mezhiev won the gold medal in the amateur adult competition, defeating top-level opponents from around the world.
He has won titles in other tournaments as well: the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) European Championship in 2023 and the ACB Jiu-Jitsu European Tournament victory in his weight category.
In the professional ring, he has won the "King of Kings" and "LNK Fight Night" events. Among the most notable successes are the victory by strangulation at the KOK World Grand Prix in Riga and several first-round TKO LNK Baltic shows from 2017 to 2020.
