For the fifth year in a row, the "Munky Pride" festival returns to Vandāni, Dignāja parish, this summer from July 17 to 20. It is an underground festival that has become an important part of the Latvian alternative music scene. Since its unofficial beginnings, the festival has become a real refuge for fans of extreme and alternative music, gathering a large number of domestic and foreign bands on stage.

The number of participants and visitors of "Munky Pride" increases significantly with each passing year, however, the organizers promise that this will be the most ambitious year of the festival so far - more than 32 bands and artists from various alternative music areas will perform, including - punk/ska , grindcore , thrash , goregrind , brutal slam metal , powerviolence , crust , technical death metal , brutal death metal .
The visitors will be delighted by the legendary domestic heavy metal group "aPēdājs", the ska punk "All Day Long" and the punk-rockers "PND", who no longer ask anyone for comments. Melodic death metal from the association "Preternatural" will be heard, but Zaķis will perform with his avant-garde punk, as usual.
The festival will also feature the grindcore band "55Gore" and the death metal band "Cryptic Hatred" from Finland, the Slovak brutal death metal band "Craniotomy". Technical death metal band "Defeated Sanity" from Germany, power metal band "Dii Minores" from Sweden will also perform.
Visitors to "Munky Pride" will also be able to enjoy bands from Estonia, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, the USA, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Austria and even the punk rock group "RUMKICKS" from South Korea! Also worth mentioning are bands like Rectal Smegma, Teething, Holocausto Canibal and Tibosity.
The organizers say about the festival: "Born out of passion and nurtured over the years, Munky Pride is a spirit of rebellion and creativity. It's not about commercial popularity - this festival is created for those who love music in its purest and most powerful form. It's an event for people who crave intensity, diversity and a real atmosphere without pomp."
As every year, this time also for a more comfortable and pleasant gathering, visitors to the event will be provided with tent places, car/motorcycle parking spaces, the opportunity to buy hot food and cold drinks, while security and medical center staff will take care of security.
