Due to the great demand, the organizers of the event, together with the musician's management, announce another Nick Cave concert, which will take place on August 13 at the Sigulda ruins stage. The first concert was sold out within hours.
Instrumentally stripped down to piano and bass (Colin Greenwood of Radiohead), ca. In the 2h30-minute long program, Cave will allow us to get even closer to the message of the masterpieces of his long career.
Interestingly, Nick Cave's solo programs tend to vary quite often, so it may happen that the artist will choose a slightly different collection of songs each day.
Two exclusive concerts will be the only performances of Nick Cave in the Baltics. Tickets for the additional concert in the entire www.bilesuserviss.lv network.
It is a real pleasure and pride to host Nick Cave on piano and Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood in the magical atmosphere of Sigulda Castle Ruins, who promise a special performance full of emotion, mood and transcendence, covering Cave's extensive and long-lasting oeuvre.
When describing Cave's solo performance in the US, the press there does not skimp on epithets:
"Nothing like a true spiritual experience" - LA Magazine
“Compelling and engaging” – Forbes
“Nick Cave + Colin Greenwood = Magic” – Scenestar
"His songs are so exciting; this [musical] pattern reveals them [the musicians] in their rarest, purest, rawest glory possible" – US Rocker
Nick Cave is perhaps best known as the lead singer and songwriter of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, but his artistic output is as varied as it is prolific. With a creative career spanning more than four decades, Cave has expressed himself in such diverse artistic disciplines as solo and collaborative musician, film composer, writer, screenwriter and author of his weekly blog, The Red Hand Files, and most recently as a ceramic artist.
"I can't wait to introduce this program to the audience with the great Colin Greenwood. It's a privilege to share the songs in this way - stripped down and unadorned, revealing their real essence," reveals Nick Cave himself.
The collaboration between Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood and Nick Cave began in 2022, when the former joined Cave and Warren Ellis on the Australian leg of their tour. Cave's North American concert series followed in September 2023. Last year, Greenwood played bass on The Bad Seeds' Wild God album and filled in for the band's original bassist Martin Casey during his illness.
Outside of music, Colin Greenwood is passionate about photography, and one of his achievements available to the wider public is the book "How to Disappear: A Portrait of Radiohead", published in the fall of 2024, which includes his bandmates' ventures between 2003 and 2016.
