Charismatic pianist Andrejs Osokins offers a rich and colorful concert program this spring, inviting listeners to go on a colorful musical journey. The premiere of the new and personal solo program "Piano Code" will be performed, as well as collaboration projects with outstanding musicians: mezzo-soprano Ieva Parša, soprano Brigita Reisoni and the artists of the "Kremerata Lettonica" string trio - violinist Madara Petersons, violist Yevgenia Frolova and cellist Pēteri Čirkša.
Andrejs Osokins says about the upcoming concerts: "In my eyes, cooperation with other musicians is one of the most beautiful aspects of making music, because it results in the most unique collaborations. When we make music together, we share not only our thoughts about the interpretation of a piece, but also our experience, emotions and view of the world. Such a meeting is always enriching - it teaches us to listen, trust and be inspired by each other. I am grateful that this spring my stage partners will be musicians with whom I have already collaborated several times and who always enrich me both as a pianist and as a person."
on March 18 at Andrej Osokina's new concert program "Piano Code" will be premiered at the "Pearl of Ulbroka" concert hall at 19.00. It will reveal the unique handwritings of four cornerstones of the history of European music – Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Frédéric Chopin and Maurice Ravel – and the extremely great diversity of piano music, the inexhaustible richness of colors and subtlety of sounds. Through the music and the pianist's stories, the listeners will be able to experience the mutual conversation between these outstanding composers, who are so beloved by the pianist, united by the code of individual human experience and love for the sounds of the piano. The concerts of this program will also take place on May 16 at 18.00 in ZEIT's creative quarter Līgatne and on May 23 at 18.00 in the cultural space "Acoustics" in Valmiera.
On Good Friday, in the concert program of Andrej Osokina and mezzo-soprano Ieva Parša, "One More Shining Day", secular and spiritual music will merge into a single meditation on the inner path of a person from suffering to light. Along with the sacred pages of Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Schubert, a special place will be reserved for the spiritual heritage of Latvian composers Jāzeps Mediņš, Emīl Dārziņš and Emilis Melngailis - Aivars Kalējs (75), Imantas Zemzars (75), Pēteris Vaskas (80) and Pauls Dambis (90). The concert will take place on April 3 at 17.00 at the Palace of Culture "Ziemeļblāzma" in Riga.
During Easter in Jūrmala, Andrejs Osokins will perform deeply emotional chamber music with the string trio "Kremerata Lettonica" musicians Madaras Pētersons (violin), Yevgēnias Frolovas (viola) and Pēteris Chirkši (cello) at the "Lonely Angel" concert. Madara Pētersone says about this concert program: "Together with us this evening will be contemporary composers - bearers of light not only for Latvia, but for the whole world - Pēteris Vasks and Arvo Perts. The First Piano Quartet of the Latvian exile author Tālivalž Ķeniņas will also be played, as well as the music of the eternally sensitive composers Wolfgang Dārziņš and Robert Šūmanis. These authors are united by the ability to clothe the deepest emotions in music - starting with the depths of the heart the suffering that we feel especially strongly during Easter, to the feeling of lightness when the soul is filled with heavenly light and peace. Along with the suffering in the world, it is a great gift for us to live next to such music and find refuge in it."
The artists are also preparing a special surprise for the audience - a work by the composer Jēkabs Jančevskis specially staged for this program. The "Lonely Angel" concert will take place on April 4 at 19.00 Dzintari Concert Hall in the Small Hall in Jurmala.
Spring will end with the concerts of the "Cantabilis" concert program, in which Andrejs Osokins and soprano Brigita Reisoni will make two worlds of music shine - the burning passion of Italian opera and the delicate and lyrical melancholy created by Latvian composers. It will be an evening where drama meets tenderness, and the flame of bel canto meets the depth and intimacy of Latvian music, uniting two different cultures in a powerful experience. The concerts of the "Cantabilis" program will take place on May 3 at 18.00 in the Apes Cultural Center and on May 28 at 19.00 in Veselava manor.
Tickets for the concerts are available at the "Biļešu paradīze" box office and on the Internet at www.bilesuparadize.lv.
In addition to active concert activity, Andrejs Osokins and the team of the "Osokinu Foundation" foundation will hold master classes for 15- to 16-year-old aspiring pianists on March 29. Their goal is not only to provide them with a professional impulse to reach new heights in piano playing, but also to offer valuable knowledge and skills in the creative process, which will facilitate the future musical path and growth of young talents. On the other hand, in April Andrejs Osokins will go to Ukraine, where he will give concerts with the orchestras of the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kyiv and the Chernihiv Philharmonic, as well as meet with the participants of musical instrument playing camps organized by the "Osokin Foundation" and students of various music schools in Chernihiv.
