The Riga Symphony Orchestra will present the program "Love Is..."

On February 13, the concert "Love Is..." or "Legendary soundtracks of love" will take place on the stage of the Palladium concert hall, where the symphony orchestra Tynda.music will play the best musical works about love.

The concert is conceived as a special event dedicated to All Lovers' Day. During the evening, the audience will hear familiar songs from such films as "Titanic", "La La Land", "A Star Is Born", "Twilight" and other cult films.

In the film Titanic, music is one of the main elements of the emotional perception of the film. Composer James Horner composed the score based on recurring leitmotifs that reinforce the theme of the inevitability of fate and loss. The song "My Heart Will Go On" performed by Celine Dion won the Academy Award "Oscar" and became one of the most recognizable film compositions in history, cementing the emotional image of the film in mass culture.

In La La Land, music is an integral part of the drama and narrative structure. Composer Justin Hurwitz uses jazz motifs and classical musical forms to highlight the conflict between the characters' personal feelings and professional ambitions. The compositions "City of Stars" and "Another Day of Sun" received international recognition, and the soundtrack itself was awarded the "Oscar" for the best music.

A Star Is Born relies on music as a central plot element. The songs were created as part of the characters' screen personas and performed live by the actors, giving them documentary authenticity. The composition "Shallow" won "Oscar" and several "Grammy" awards, becoming not only the climax of the film, but also an independent musical message about intimacy, fear and vulnerability.

In the movie "Twilight", music serves an atmospheric function, creating the emotional background of the story. Composer Carter Burwell combines minimalistic orchestral themes with indie and alternative music that set the film apart from other teen dramas of the time. Although the soundtrack didn't win any major academic awards, it became an essential part of the film's identity and played a significant role in building its fan base.

All these films are united by the approach to music as an instrument of meaning: it not only accompanies the action, but helps reveal the character of the characters, enhances the drama and strengthens the emotional impact of the story.

Duration of the concert: 90 minutes.
