Currently, a special social project "Give power to life!" is being implemented in Latvia, within the framework of which a team of volunteers has committed to carry out cosmetic repairs and create a child-friendly environment in the Biķernieki Children's Hearing Rehabilitation Center within two months.
This center receives about 300 children from all over Latvia every year who need intensive hearing rehabilitation. The goal of the project is to create a physically and emotionally suitable environment that promotes the healing process of children.
"The idea came from seeing how important it is to create a safe, aesthetic and developmental environment for children with special needs in rehabilitation centers, it significantly affects both emotional well-being and the results of therapy. Our goal is to work together to create spaces where children feel welcome, safe and motivated to develop," says Anita Pedāne, representative of the initiative.
Currently, the center is facing dilapidation, which hinders the provision of a suitable environment for young patients. Therefore, changes are being made that would help improve both children's well-being and the effectiveness of therapy.
"Work is already underway on the renovation of the children's playground and room lighting solutions - and this is only the first step. It warms the heart to see how responsive people and companies are - the restaurants "ALLORA", "36. line" and "Street Burger", companies SIA "UEC Sistemas, SIA "Liepklani", SIA "Jūrmalas Meža parki", as well as many private individuals," adds Anita Pedāne.
